We ended up starting late due to toilet breaks at the garden centre. There were lots of slippery stiles in poor condition. One public right of way was blocked by a private road gate. Ken broke a farmer’s gate. It was muddy all the way round but easier coming back downhill. We had our lunch sitting on purple benches outside Bishop Ian Ramsay Primary School in Medomsley. Near Medomsley we found a chesnut brown hairy pig and six piglets in a muddy wood. We had to dip our boots in disinfectant beside Lintzford egg farm. We met Hairy Biker Si King and his dog (Arty – a miniature labradoodle) outside Hamsterley Hall. He was very friendly. The snowdrops were coming out. We also passed some horses.
