Interesting walk, especially between Mill End and Eachwick and Dalton, along the river. A flock of sheep fled from us and all piled through a hole in the wall into the next field. Friendly farmer at Huntlaw. One house had a 'Cats Crossing' sign and a mini with the number plate L - - - PET came up the drive as we walked down it. The ground was relatively dry. We crossed several fields that had crops sprouting through. Ron found a piece of glazed bone china in a field. Lots of lambs, and some Jacob's lambs which were black and white. Old sheepdog. Saw a badgers' sett - no sign of any occupants. The lunch spot was sheltered, but interrupted by a pretentious well-spoken toonie warned us about being careful around the lambs we had already seen (and been careful with!). Several very nice stone houses with attractive gardens. Lots of snowdrops, especially at Milbourne Hall. Attractive village church at Milbourne with a working clock. Wildlife: Blond cockerel, geese, kestrel, aggressive blackbirds, friendly horses, donkey.

The Red House Farm Bar and Restaurant. Joined by Bernie, George G and Ashley on his crutches. Good value meals, enjoyable, with tasty crumble.
