Walk leader

Ken

Route

(Wannie Line Circle) Scot’s Gap – Saughbog Plantation – Delf Plantation – Low Fairnley – Halls Hill – Rugley Walls – Scot’s Gap

Weather

Wet at first, cleared up as the walk progressed but remained cloudy, although we saw the sun try to shine through on one occasion.

Walkers

Ken, Ron, Diane, George

Excuses

Ashley - in Majorca

Sandy - bad back

Richard - didn't fancy getting wet

Michelle and Michael - on holiday in Yorkshire

Comments

The walk distance was approximately seven miles over old railway line and tracks. It was very wet underfoot but not hard going. Diane brought (and used) an umbrella. We had lunch in the woods, which provided good shelter from the rain. On the route there were several tight kissing gates that we had to navigate.

We saw lots of inquisitive cows, also a variety of different breeds of sheep.

Meal

Rialto’s, Ponteland – joined by Dorothy, Richard, Sandy and Evelyn. Very good meal, good service.
