Comments

We only saw one couple on the whole of the walk.

There was a steep climb up to Clennell Strett, but we had good views from the top over all the surrounding hills and valleys. Saw some interesting 'stells'. These are dry-stone walled enclosures used for gathering sheep in sheltered places, and in Northumbria they are usually circular.

The landlord at the Rose and Thistle was very hospitable, opening up the small bar to accommodate Ruby.

Animals: some rare chickens, oystercatchers, then the usual sheep and cows.

Meal

No meal this month.
